Dr. Jitendra Singh, Associate director at AB InBev India Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru was welcomed virtually for an illuminating session. The session commenced with his introduction, where he outlined his career trajectory, followed by an introduction of his company for the benefit of the  students. He supplemented his presentation with statistical data pertaining to the company’s performance.

He took the opportunity to drive out common misconceptions about Human Resources (HR) professionals, injecting humour by sharing amusing HR-related memes. He recounted a personal interview experience to provide insight into the hiring process. The topic of VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) was introduced, with him inquiring whether the students were familiar with the concept. Upon noting their lack of awareness, he proceeded to define the term.

Connecting this to contemporary corporate requirements, he emphasized the evolving needs of companies. He advised students to adhere to company-specific guidelines, particularly in terms of attire, while appearing for the interview. He underscored the significance of cultivating skills beyond academic excellence, drawing from his own experiences. The session turned to highlight the anticipation of teamwork and adaptability in fresh recruits by modern companies.

He transitioned to discussing essential industry traits, emphasizing the value of unconventional thinking and courage. He linked personal reflections as both an interviewee and interviewer, emphasizing the importance of thorough company research before interviews. He stressed the importance of truthfulness in resumes/CVs, advocating for proficiency in skills listed. A brief narrative about Jeff Bezos was shared to illustrate key principles.
