Topic – Orientation on German Language

Speaker: Mr. Ambarish Chandrayan

 

A session led by Mr. Ambarish Chandrayan, expert in German language, commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Toshal Narkhede, student coordinator, who honoured him with memento and shawl as tokens of respect. The discussion revolved around the essence of communication, with him exploring the significance and the relevance of foreign languages.

Drawing attention to corporate demands, he emphasized the value of developing secondary skills, highlighting foreign language proficiency as a common one. Stressing that the language of business is the customer’s language, he pushed students to contemplate their motivations for pursuing engineering, revealing that practical skills correlate with the number of available educational institutions.

He navigated the conversation towards the prevailing competitive landscape across fields, directing attention to potential sectors that benefit from foreign language skills. Focusing specifically on German, he illuminated its comparative ease due to its phonetic nature, elucidating how its simplicity contrasted with languages like Japanese and French. Highlighting how German’s grammar is influenced by Sanskrit, he underscored its suitability for Indians familiar with Hindi, English, and Marathi.

He assured students that learning German would not compromise their English proficiency and highlighted its significance as the second most used language in Science. He enumerated reasons to learn German, encompassing business, global career prospects, tourism, science, communication, arts, and more. He spotlighted opportunities in German companies, and possibilities to study/work in Germany, as well as exchange programs through the DAAD Scholarship.

In conclusion, his session effectively highlighted the practicality and benefits of learning German. His insights into the language’s compatibility with Indian languages and its relevance in various fields underscored its value. The session encouraged students to consider the global perspective and potential opportunities that German proficiency can offer, making it a thought-provoking and informative experience.
