Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations at Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering, Shegaon
On the 7th of September, Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering (SSGMCE) celebrated the grand arrival (Aagman) of Lord Ganesha with great devotion and enthusiasm. Preparations for the event began two to three days earlier. This year, the stage and shamiyana for Ganeshji’s idol were beautifully set up in front of the college library. The celebrations kicked off at 11 AM, starting from the main gate of the college. Girls from B.E. 2nd, 3rd, and final years, played Lezim to the rhythm of drums and bands as the procession made its way to the library, filling the atmosphere with lively energy and devotion.
At the auspicious time of the Muhurat, Lord Ganesha’s idol was carefully placed in its designated spot. The rituals were meticulously performed under the guidance of a Brahmin and student co-ordinators. The Aarti was performed by the respected Principal, Dr. S. B. Somani, along with all the students present at the moment.
After the Aarti, Prasad was distributed to all present. This remarkable celebration was made possible through the tireless efforts of the Cultural Council team, led by Mr. Ajinkya Nagare and Miss Samruddhi Tambatkar. With devotion and teamwork, SSGMCE once again showcased its dedication to tradition, culture, and unity, as they warmly welcomed Ganeshji into their hearts and college.
