The convocation ceremony held at Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering, Shegaon, showcased a notable assembly of esteemed guests, including Chief Guest Dr. Abhijeet K. Digalwar, Professor and Head of Research at SIU Pune, Nagpur campus, Nagpur and also a professor in Mechanical Engineering at BITS, Pilani (currently on EoL(Lien)). Other notable guests included Shri. Sharadji Shinde, Secretary, Shri Gajanan Shikshan Sanstha, Shegaon, Shri Shrikantdada Patil, Director, SSGMCE, Shegaon, and Dr. S. B. Somani, Principal, SSGMCE, Shegaon. The program commenced as Prof. H. S. Patil, welcomed both the esteemed guests and the audience.
The ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp and the Aarti of Shri Gajanan Maharaj, symbolizing the commencement. Dr. S. B. Somani addressed the audience first. Following his insightful remarks, the stage was then graced by Dr. Abhijeet K. Digalwar, who also took the opportunity to inspire and encourage the audience on their onward journey.
In his talk, attendees received valuable life lessons encapsulated in the “4 Ds of life” – Duty, Determination, Discipline, and Dedication. These principles were brought to life through real, real-world examples, offering the audience practical insights into how to apply them effectively in their journeys ahead.
He also drew inspiration from the profound words of Swami Vivekananda: “Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached.” This quote resonated deeply, serving as a reminder of the importance of unwavering determination and continuous effort in the pursuit of one’s goals.
Moreover, a transformative perspective was shared: the convocation ceremony should not be seen as the culmination of one’s educational journey, but rather as the commencement of a new chapter in life’s grand adventure. This perspective shift encouraged graduates to carry forward the knowledge and experiences gained during their academic years, propelling them into the future with renewed purpose and enthusiasm.
The distribution of degrees to the merit students ensued, with each recipient being recognized individually. Three exceptional students, Ms. Sakshi Deshmukh, Ms. Kimaya Gabane, and Mr. Hritik Kahalkar, expressed their gratitude to the college. Ms. Sakshi Deshmukh, who holds degrees in both B.E. and M.E. from SSGMCE and possesses six years of overall college experience, was among those who conveyed their appreciation.
Following the acknowledgment and distribution of degrees to all students, Prof. H. S. Patil delivered the concluding vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with group photos taken according to academic branches, and a sumptuous lunch was provided to the distinguished guests.
