Day 2 Student Orientation and Induction Program – Session III (13th September 2024)
Topic: Creation of ABC ID

As part of the Student Orientation and Induction Program for first-year engineering students, a session on the Creation of Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) ID was held on 13th September 2024 at the New Auditorium. The session was led by Prof. D. L. Bhombe, the Dean of Academics, who explained the significance and process of creating an ABC ID, which is essential for the students’ academic journey.
Prof. Bhombe began by introducing the concept of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), a system introduced by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He highlighted how the ABC system allows students to digitally store and transfer their earned academic credits across different institutions, providing them with flexibility in their learning paths.
During the session, Prof. Bhombe guided the students through the step-by-step process of creating their ABC IDs via the official portal, stressing its importance for managing their academic records seamlessly. He also mentioned that having an ABC ID will enable students to benefit from the Multiple Entry-Exit System as per NEP guidelines, allowing them to take breaks from their studies or transfer between institutions without losing their hard-earned credits.
The session was interactive, with students actively participating in the ABC ID creation process on their laptops and mobile devices. Prof. Bhombe, along with a team of faculty members, provided real-time assistance to ensure that every student successfully registered for their ABC ID.
Prof. Bhombe also emphasized the long-term benefits of the ABC system, stating that it will help students maintain a centralized record of their academic achievements, which can be accessed anytime during their higher education journey.
The session concluded with Prof. Bhombe encouraging students to explore the features of the ABC portal and utilize its full potential to enhance their academic mobility and flexibility.
