🚀 Day 3 | Session II | Orientation & Induction Programme 2025–26 (B.E./M.B.A. First Year)
Speaker: Prof. S. V. Bhagat
Topic: Anti-Ragging Awareness
The second session of the day featured an impactful talk on “Anti-Ragging Awareness” by Prof. S. V. Bhagat, introduced by Ms. Kashish Agrawal.
Prof. Bhagat emphasized that ragging isn’t just physical—it includes any form of mental, emotional, or verbal harassment. From teasing and humiliation to forced conversations, all such acts are violations of dignity and respect.
Highlighting the legal, academic, and social consequences, he reminded students that ragging is a criminal offence and a human rights violation, as declared by the Hon. Supreme Court of India. He explained UGC and AICTE regulations, and the institutional mechanisms in place to ensure safety, including complaint redressal systems.
Students were urged to take an active stand—“Don’t just watch, stop ragging. Show character.” The session reinforced the message that SSGMCE stands for a culture of safety, respect, and zero tolerance towards ragging.
